In His Image

Testimony from OM worker, Grace Lai:
“I recently got to know a girl from a new immigrant family. She had been seriously burned during her infancy, and her face was very scarred in spite of repeated surgeries. She tries to be brave and persistent to face the reality; but, on the other hand, she struggles with feelings of helplessness.

“I was deeply empathetic toward the situation of this young girl, whose heart is pure. When she agreed to let me pray for her, I prayed that God would make a way. After praying, I suddenly remembered the story of Nick Vujicic, an Australian who was born with no limbs and who had spoken at an evangelical event. I then surfed the internet with the girl for Nick’s photos and testimony. She was amazed and reassured by his story. From her response, I know that God has already moved her and blessed her life in great measure.”

Please pray for Grace Lai, who heads up the ministry for new arrivals in OM Hong Kong. Pray for her relationship with this girl, as well as her ministry with others. Pray that this young girl will be able to see herself as Christ sees her.

En su infancia se quemó seriamente y, a pesar de muchas operaciones, todavía tiene bastantes cicatrices. Ella trata de ser valiente y persistente para enfrentar la realidad; pero por otra parte lucha contra los sentimientos de impotencia.

“Me sentí muy identificada con la situación de esta joven, cuyo corazón es puro. Cuando accedió a que orara por ella, ore para que Dios abriera un camino. Cuando terminé la oración, de repente, recordé la historia de Nick Vujicic, un australiano que había nacido sin extremidades y había hablado en un evento evangelístico. Entonces navegué por Internet con la joven en busca de una foto de Nick y su testimonio. Ella se maravilló y fortaleció con la historia. Por su reacción, yo sé que Dios se ha movido en su vida y la ha bendecido en gran manera.”

Por favor ora por Grace Lai, que lidera un ministerio para los nuevos inmigrantes en Hong Kong. Ora por la relación con esta joven, así como por su ministerio con otras. Ora por esta joven para que pueda verse a si misma como Cristo la ve.
