International Dinner

For three years, OM Norway and other local organisations and churches have organised prayer times and training for local Christians to share about Christ with their neighbours and colleagues.

For some time now, the team has felt the need to go wider in their approach. They realised that many refugees and immigrants that come to Norway are Christians, and many have formed their own ethnic churches, while just a few integrate into local Norwegian churches. OM Norway wondered how these groups could meet together as sisters and brothers in Christ. The idea for an international dinner was born.

OM approached the leaders of these ethnic fellowships, and they came to OM’s planning meetings where they eagerly embraced the idea. The dinner will take place on Ascension Day on 21 May and will host approximately 200 people. Each group will bring food from their home country. There will also be a short programme with songs and devotions, but the dinner is primarily to build relationships between the Norwegian and foreign Christians.

OM hopes that the dinner will bring a deeper sense of unity amongst the Christians. With Norway becoming a more post-Christian nation, OM hopes that the influx of Christians from other parts of the world will be one of God’s ways to make Himself known. Please pray that the international dinner will help OM find a way to unite the Christians, in addition to providing a fun afternoon.
 

CENA INTERNACIONAL – Noruega
Port res años, OM Noruega y otras organizaciones e iglesias locales han organizado tiempos de oración y entrenamiento para cristianos locales para compartir acerca de Cristo con sus vecinos y colegas.

Por algún tiempo el equipo ha sentido la necesidad de ampliar este ministerio. Se han dado cuenta que muchos refugiados e inmigrantes que vienen a Noruega son cristianos, y muchos han formado sus propias iglesias étnicas, y sólo algunos pocos se integran en las iglesias noruegas locales. OM Noruega se preguntaba cómo estos grupos podrían reunirse como hermanos y hermanas en Cristo. De allí nació la idea de una cena internacional.

OM se acercó a los líderes de las iglesias étnicas quienes vinieron a las reuniones para planificar el evento y tomaron como propia la idea. La cena se realizará el 21 de Mayo (Día de la Ascensión) y se congregarán aproximadamente 200 personas. Cada grupo traerá comida típica de su país de origen. Habrá también un corto programa con canciones y meditaciones, pero la cena está pensada principalmente para crear relaciones entre los cristianos noruegos y extranjeros.

OM espera que la cena traiga un profundo sentido de unidad entre los cristianos. Dado que Noruega se está volviendo una nación más post-cristiana, OM espera que la afluencia de cristianos de otras partes del mundo sea una de las maneras en que Dios se dé a conocer a Si mismo. Por favor ora para que la cena internacional ayude a OM para encontrar un camino hacia la unidad de los cristianos y que también haya compañerismo y diversión.
