Practical help opens doors for the good news

"Ich habe so viele kurdische Freunde und Bekannte und alle wissen von meinem Problem, doch keiner hat mir geholfen. Du kennst mich nicht und hilft mir sofort! Warum machst du das?" fragte Öznur Fatima.

Fatima antwortete: "Vor einigen Jahren hätte ich so etwas auch noch nicht gemacht. Aber weil ich nun an Jesus glaube, will ich so leben, wie er lehrt. Deshalb helfe ich anderen, wenn ich kann."

Öznur schaute Fatima an und meinte: "Ich liebe diesen Jesus! Ich habe schon versucht, mehr über ihn herauszufinden und habe auch versucht mit meinem Onkel, der schon in Mekka war, über Jesus zu reden. Doch mein Onkel wollte davon nichts hören." "Ich weiß warum das so ist", meinte Fatima und erklärte Öznur einiges über Jesus. Anschließend wollte Fatima Öznur eine Bibel schenken, aber Öznur lehnte ab, "weil ich ja noch bei meinem Onkel wohne."

Ein Jahr später, nachdem Öznur in die neue Wohnung gezogen ist, haben die beiden Frauen immer noch Kontakt und Fatima konnte Öznur die Bibel schenken.

"I have so many Kurdish friends and colleagues, and all know of my problems - but nobody helped. You hardly knew me and yet you helped me immediately! Why is that so?" asked Öznur.

Fatima replied, "A few years ago I would not have acted so. But now that I believe in Jesus, I want to live my life according to his teachings. That’s why I help others, if I can."

Öznur looked at Fatima and said, "I love this Jesus! I tried to find out more about him and even tried to speak to my uncle about Jesus, as he had already been to Mecca. But my uncle didn’t want to hear more." "I know why that is so,“ replied Fatima and continued to explain who Jesus is to Öznur. At the end of the conversation, Fatima hoped to give Öznur a Bible, but she refused "because I still live with my uncle."

A year later, Öznur moved to a new apartment and still in contact, Fatima was able to give her the Bible.
