A Gift of Hope

In collaboration with a local doctor, we have visited families with babies, many of whom live in real poverty with poor housing, struggling to buy simple food for themselves.

We offer them a gift of diapers and baby formula, listen to the new mums and offer health advice for the women and their babies.

Through this ministry, we also visit families with young children who have some disability or handicap. It is a real struggle for Albanians, as their children are often shunned and considered a disgrace to the family.

Equipment for children with physical disabilities is also very limited, and they can become trapped inside one room in their homes, with only their close family nearby.

Caring for the children means families have less opportunity to work, and the effects of loss of income can be great.

We took a food parcel to one family, and when the mum saw the food parcel, she started crying. "I used the last bit of flour this morning," she said, "and have no money to buy any more. I wondered what we would do!"

We were able to participate in this answer to her unspoken prayers, and thus able to show God’s love for her and her family.
