Teenagers Destined to Change the World

190 Swedish teenagers and leaders came together for a “mini-TeenStreet” in Jönköping. Anette Eklöf, OM Sweden’s TeenStreet co-ordinator shared, “At one evening service we sang ‘I see a generation…’. When I looked out on the crowd I felt so strongly that these teenagers are going to change the world. But what motivates me even more is to see God make a lasting impact in their lives. If teenagers are going to change the world, it has to start with one person, and spread from there.”

Right after the main evening service on Saturday, a teenager approached Anette and told her that she had seen and met God. “For the first time,” continues Anette, “this teenager understood that what Jesus did on the cross, He did for her. The gospel had become real. To sit next to her and see her tears flowing down her cheeks is what makes all this work worth the effort”.

Anette Eklöf, coordinadora de TeenStreet de OM Suecia, compartió: “Durante una reunión de noche, cantamos ‘Veo una generación’. Cuando miré a la audiencia, sentí fuertemente que estos adolescentes van a cambiar el mundo. Pero lo que más me motiva es ver a Dios haciendo un impacto duradero en sus vidas. Si los adolescentes van a cambiar el mundo, esto debe comenzar con una persona y esparcirse luego.”

Justo después de la reunión la noche del sábado, una adolescente se acercó a Anette y le dijo que ella había visto y conocido a Dios. “Por primera vez”, continuó Anette, “esa adolescente entendió que lo que Jesús hizo en la cruz, lo hizo por ella. El evangelio se volvió algo real. Sentarme junto a ella y ver sus lágrimas rodar por sus mejillas es lo que hizo que todo el trabajo valiera la pena.”
