Discipleship Centre Graduation, April 2010
In January 2010 the OM Russia Discipleship Centre moved into its new, purpose designed premises – a dream come true. During a prolonged spell of -35 degrees celsius, the students kept wonderfully warm thanks to the great design and insulation of the building. The extra space was used to extend the teaching to more students and house more missionaries at lower cost. Larger prayer meetings were organised with more guests, at which different needs in Novosibirsk and across the world were prayed for. The new building has already been a wonderful blessing and allowed OM Russia to increase its impact in Novosibirsk and beyond.

On 11th April, eight students graduated, following is what some will do:

Igor and Tanya are moving to the Siberian town of Kemerova with their two children to start a new Christian fellowship there for the deaf and dumb community.

Dima plans to travel to one of the towns in the Novosibirsk area where there is no church. The town of Kubishev has a population of about 30,000 people, and very few Christians. He will join a small group which is attempting to start a new Christian fellowship there.

Tanya is getting a job as a nanny, but plans to join the OM ship Logos Hope in January.

Marina will continue being a member of the OM Russia team and will be involved in visiting orphanages, old people’s homes, feeding the homeless and organising children’s holiday Bible clubs.

Georgi is going back to his home town of Rubsovsk in Southern Siberia where he will get married, and would like to be involved in reaching out to children and teenagers with some others from his church.

Now that the term has come to an end, OM Russia is concentrating on getting the building completely finished so that it can be used to full capacity from August 2010. It is estimated that from that time the there will be over 20 people living in the Centre.  The following are a list of remaining projects for which finance is required:

Project

Project 1 - Generator The electricity supply is unreliable and a backup is needed since the heating system, critical in the winter, depends on electricity to work the pumps. $2,000

Project 3 - Gas Cooker & Ventilation An official project needs to be made to bring the gas line into the kitchen and a good size gas cooker needs to be purchased $1,500
