A house church begins

Over many years the team has discovered seekers in Turkey by placing advertisements for a Bible Correspondence Course in national newspapers. Their visits to receptive contacts have taken them to provinces many kilometres away from the office in Istanbul, and have often taken them to cities where there is no church.

One day, the team was travelling to the city of Amasya, and a call came from the office telling them that a fellow by the name of Chelebi was very interested. It turned out that he was from Amasya –the very place they were going. As the team neared their destination, they called Chelebi, who was excited to meet them and welcomed the team joyfully when they arrived.

It wasn't long before he came to true faith in Jesus and began studying the Bible. Every time they visit him he invites people to hear the gospel. Since then, about 30 people have heard the good news in this way. His wife has also accepted Jesus, and recently they were both baptized. The team continues to visit the couple and a small meeting has started in their home.
 

UNA IGLESIA CASERA COMIENZA – Turquía
A través de los años el equipo ha descubierto turcos que buscan de Dios a través del ofrecimiento de Cursos Bíblicos por Correspondencia en los periódicos nacionales. Visitar a los contactos ha significado que se viajen muchos kilómetros desde la oficina de Estambul, y muchas veces estos viajes los han llevado a ciudades donde no hay iglesias.

Un día, el equipo estaba viajando a la ciudad de Amasya, y les llegó un llamado telefónico desde la oficina para avisarles que un hombre llamado Chelebi estaba muy interesado. Descubrieron que vivía en Amasya, el lugar que visitarían. Cuando estaban llegando, llamaron a Chelebi, quien estaba muy animado de poder conocerlos y los recibió gozoso cuando llegaron.

No hacía mucho tiempo que había venido a la fe en Jesús y comenzado un estudio bíblico. Cada vez que lo visitan, él invita a otros para que oigan el evangelio. Desde entonces, cerca de 30 personas han oído las buenas nuevas de esta manera. Su esposa también a aceptado a Jesús y ambos fueron bautizados recientemente. El equipo sigue visitándolos y se ha comenzado una pequeña reunión en su hogar.
