Reaching friends

Joan and Wessel, leaders of the work in Angola, got to know Gode, a man who sells fuel near the base in Luanda. One afternoon, Wessel talked with him about Jesus. At one time, Gode had been a believer in Christ, but he had slid away from the Christian faith and became a Muslim. The conversation between the two men quickly became a back-and-forth exchange about Christianity and Islam. Wessel left the conversation saying, “You surely did not understand who Jesus is and what He has done for you. That is why you have denied Jesus and what He did for you.” Joan and Wessel were away for three months, and when they returned they could see a difference in Gode’s face. He shared with Wessel that his heart had changed.

Another Muslim friend, Mario, is the husband of Chileshe, who volunteers with OM Angola. Last year Mario received a bursary to study in the United States. Mario decided to go, and Chileshe and the rest of the family planned to join him sometime after. The OM team and Chileshe have trusted God a long time for Mario’s salvation. Great was their joy when they heard that Mario had started attending a Christian Pentecostal church in the U.S. Since then he has experienced love and care from the pastor and his wife. “We are amazed and have no words to offer to God when we receive his emails and hear about the things God is doing in his life,” said Joan.

Praise the Lord for how He is moving in the lives of these two men. Please pray that both Gode and Mario will know Jesus personally.

ALCANZANDO A LOS AMIGOS – Angola
Joan y Wessel, líderes del trabajo en Angola, conocieron a Gode, un hombre que vende combustible cerca de la base en Luanda. Una tarde, Wessel le habló de Jesús. Alguna vez Gode había sido creyente en Cristo, pero se había apartado de la fe cristiana y convertido en musulmán. La conversación entre ambos pronto se transformó en un intercambio entre el cristianismo y el Islam. Wessel dejó la conversación diciendo: “Seguramente usted no ha entendido quién es Jesús y lo que Él ha hecho por usted. Por eso lo ha negado.” Joan y Wessel estuvieron fuera por tres meses, pero cuando regresaron pudieron ver algo diferente en el rostro de Gode. Le contó a Wessel que su corazón había cambiado.

Otro amigo musulmán, Mario, quien es esposo de Chileshe, una voluntaria de OM Angola, el año pasado, recibió una beca para estudiar en los Estados Unidos. Mario decidió irse y Chileshe junto a toda la familia, planearon unírsele más tarde. El equipo de OM y Chileshe han orado a Dios por largo tiempo por la salvación de Mario. Grande fue su alegría cuando escucharon que Mario comenzó a asistir a una iglesia cristiana Pentecostal en los EE.UU. Desde entonces, él ha podido experimentar el amor y cuidado del pastor y su esposa. “Estábamos asombrados y sin palabras para agradecer a Dios cuando recibimos su email y oímos de lo que Dios está haciendo en su vida”, dijo Joan.

Alaba al Señor por la manera en que se está moviendo en las vidas de estos dos hombres. Por favor ora por Gode y Mario para que conozcan a Jesús personalmente.
 

ATTEINDRE DES AMIS – Angola
Joan et Wessel, les responsables du travail en Angola, ont fait la connaissance de Gode, un homme qui vend de l’essence près de la base de Luanda. Un après midi, Wessel lui a parlé de Jésus. Il fut un temps où Gode avait cru en Christ, mais il s’était éloigné de la foi chrétienne et était devenu musulman. La conversation entre les deux hommes s’est vite transformée en débat sur le christianisme et l’islam. Wessel termina la conversation en disant : « tu n’as sûrement pas compris qui est Jésus et ce qu’il a fait pour toi. C’est pour cela que tu as refusé Jésus et ce qu’Il a fait pour toi. » Joan et Wessel ont été absents pendant trois mois, puis quand ils sont revenus ils ont remarqué que le visage de Gode avait changé. Gode expliqua à Wessel que son cœur avait changé.

Un autre ami musulman, Mario, est le mari de Chileshe, qui est bénévole avec OM Angola. L’année dernière, Mario a reçu une bourse pour aller étudier aux Etats-Unis. Mario décida qu’il irait et que Chileshe et le reste de la famille le rejoindraient plus tard. L’équipe d’OM et Chileshe faisaient depuis longtemps confiance à Dieu pour le salut de Mario. Quelle immense joie ils ont eu en apprenant que Mario fréquentait une église chrétienne pentecôtiste aux Etats-Unis. Depuis ce jour, il a pu expérimenter l’affection et l’attention du pasteur et de sa femme. « Quand nous lisons ses emails et quand nous entendons ce que Dieu fait dans sa vie, nous sommes émerveillés et nous ne trouvons pas les mots pour remercier Dieu, » déclara Joan.

Louez le Seigneur pour la façon dont Il a agit dans les cœurs de ces deux hommes. Priez pour que chacun, Gode et Mario, connaisse Jésus personnellement.
