Fighting for my friend

Since Autumn 2009, Iva (OM) has been meeting her former schoolmate, Jarka*, more often. While pregnant with her second child, Jarka and her husband got divorce - God Himself started to touch Jarka's heart and she is now more open to talk about Christianity, even though her spiritual eyes are not yet focussed on Jesus only.

"I asked Jarka whether she wanted to study the Bible with me," said Iva. "But she didn't respond. Only recently did she write to ask I bring a Bible with me next time I visit her, as she thought that some explanation would be helpful indeed.

"So I now read the Gospel with Jarka whenever we meet. We have gone through the first five chapters of Luke so far, and have had many good discussions on different topics. I appreciate her willingness to listen, although she is not sure what the Truth is. Her new boyfriend is interested in an Eastern spiritual practice and Jarka is exposed to other spiritual influences through karate classes. I can see God doing His work in Jarka, but the spiritual opposition is clear."

Pray that Jarka and her boyfriend will see their need for Christ, and that God would provide Iva with the right words and attitude when talking to them about His plan for their lives.
