In Bangladesh, our big need is for the approval of our next five year plan, which was submitted to the NGO bureau in February. From July 1st we will not be able to start any new programmes, and depend upon government approval to get things moving.

In one town in particular, we are very keen to launch the new sports programme. Over the past six months, an experimental programme has built up a very good relationship with the schools and with the local government officials. We would really like to continue to grow with that momentum.

We praise God for a substantial gift for the Schools’ Assistance Programme which will mean that, once we get approval, we will be able to do more to help schools this coming year than we have for the past three or four years. It is an exciting prospect!

In July several new classes will begin: an English class will start on 11th July–13th August for 20 students; a teacher is coming from overseas to teach them. There will be two classes: a boys’ class and a girls’ class. We had twice as many applicants as we could manage, which is encouraging.
