Workshops for the kids, talks with the parents

It started spontaneously during a vacation activity for children in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Every day, about 100 kids came to the one-week programme that combined a story from the Bible with creative workshops on things like origami, soccer, baking and beauty. Some children couldn’t wait to come back the next day and participate in another workshop.

Many mothers waited for their children during the programme. “We started to have talks with them,” says Markus Leder, team leader of OM in Buenos Aires. “This way, a Bible discussion group originated.” On an afternoon, one of the mothers came to the team members and told them that she needed prayer. “We talked to her and she gave her life to the Lord. The next day she came back with her with her teen sister who wanted to know more about God. She also gave her life to Jesus.”

The vacation programme for kids now has led to a small Bible study group that is being attended by parents from the neighbourhood. They come together to learn more about the Christian faith. Praise God for this, and please pray that He will work in the lives of the parents and the children.
