Seventy-four participants from OM Philippines Cebu Ministries participated in a mall-sponsored fun run in Cebu to raise funds for their Feeding Outreach Ministry. The event, called “Fit and Fun Run”, took place on 17 July and started at 4:00 in the morning. Participants ran races of three kilometres, seven kilometres and 15 kilometres.

OM Philippines (OMP) staff and professional runner Lyra Valles encouraged OM staff, volunteers, outreach youth, scholars, friends, and partner churches to fellowship through physical fitness, promoting holistic growth—spiritual, physical, and mental. “I am also blessed that my co-runners—only a few are Christians—see the people and ministry I serve. It was easy to share the gospel.”

Reverend Daniel Wong led the opening prayer. The majority of the OM participants received raffle prizes during the activity draw. OM also put up an interactive booth for face painting, creative arts, sharing the gospel and more.

“Our legs and bodies were aching after the event, but we had fun!” said OMP team member Daniela Bekaan. “We praise the Lord that our partner churches supported the run and participated along with the staff and our outreach teens. Praise the Lord also for His provision in raising the needed funds for the ministry.”
