Cebu, Philippines :: Lin Geissler (Germany) plays a game with local children.
Kuya Orlando is a pastor who opens his home in Cebu every Saturday to children who don’t yet know God. A team from Logos Hope visited Kuya’s home to play basketball with the kids and sing songs with them. They then shared the gospel. Lin Geissler (Germany) found the children gave the team a lot of attention and held their hands. “One girl of three or four was so adorable,” she said. “I held her in my arms.” After being abandoned by her parents, this girl had been brought to Kuya’s home since she was a tiny baby. “That day showed me that kids don’t need presents but presence,” added Lin. “Every child needs love and someone to spend time with them. That’s what changes their lives.”
