Getting ready to GO

Over 160 new recruits (including children) gathered in Mosbach, Germany in January 2006 for the "GO" conference in preparation for joining OM ministries around the world.  The workers, from more than 25 different nations, took time getting to grips with the realities and frustrations of life in mission.  After a busy day, one participant admitted, “I’m tired and need to go to bed.” Another said, “ I learnt some of the core vales – grace and integrity for example – it was totally relevant to my life and I’m sure will help me in future.”

One of the organisers commented, “It was great to see these people so excited to get out there and get going. This year the conference seemed to be far more relaxed that usual but the relaxed atmosphere masked the serious steps these people have taken already.  Coming from a wide variety of of backgrounds and church situations the conference participants began to accept diversity, learn from each other and walk closer to God."

Pray for all of the workers joining OM ministries around the world at the start of 2006.  Many will face the challenges of language learning, culture shock and a dramatic change in life-style
