Forty-one men from 12 different cities in Pakistan plus one from Afghanistan participated in OM's Sports Ministry Leadership Training Conference in Lahore in January, 2006. Events included a Mini-Region Wrestling tournament from 11-15 January, and the opening ceremony of a cricket tournament. Along with the practical days at the conference, men received the challenge to become a part of God’s master plan of evangelism. Most went away excited by the possibilities. “Now I can see how much I can do for the Lord through sports ministry, and I will start to teach and talk about Jesus before daily net practice!” declared one cricket player, who is also a coach.

Pray for these men as they begin to apply what they’ve learned, and for the potential hundreds who will be affected. Also pray for the launch of “Born to Play” by Graham Daniels & Stuart Weir, the first Urdu-language book in Pakistan about sports ministry, funded by Christians in Sport UK.
