Nepali youth summer camp

Each spring Nepali high school students complete the dreaded “SLC” exams and start a new summer lifestyle of freedom and boredom. They roam the city, play cards, and get together with friends.

This year OM Nepal offered an alternative way for Christian students to spend their time: a discipleship and outreach summer camp. Nepali churches took advantage of the opportunity and sent 19 students from seven districts. Participants studied a variety of topics including time management, finding their spouse and their identity in Christ. They were then divided into three groups and sent out on one-week outreaches in areas north and east of Kathmandu.

The students who participated in the camp have now returned to their homes. Pray that they will continue to share what they learned, and their enthusiasm for outreach, with their churches and friends.
 

CAMPAMENTO DE VERANO PARA JÓVENES EN NEPAL
Cada primavera, los estudiantes de la escuela secundaria en Nepal realizan el temido examen “SLC” y comienzan un nuevo estilo de vida de verano de libertad y aburrimiento. Deambulan por la ciudad, juegan cartas y se reúnen con amigos.

Este año, OM Nepal ofreció una alternativa para los estudiantes cristianos de pasar su tiempo libre: un campamento de discipulado y alcance. Las iglesias nepalíes aprovecharon esta oportunidad para enviar 19 estudiantes de siete distritos. Los participantes estudiaron una variedad de tópicos incluyendo administración del tiempo, cómo encontrar a sus esposos o esposas, y su identidad en Cristo. Luego fueron divididos en tres grupos y enviados para un programa de alcance de una semana de duración en las áreas del norte y este de Katmandú.

Los estudiantes que participaron en el campamento deben retornar a sus hogares ahora. Ora para que ellos continúen compartiendo lo que han aprendido y su entusiasmo por alcanzar a otros con sus iglesias y amigos.
